DUSABLE TO OBAMA: CHICAGO'S BLACK METROPOLIS

Composer and trumpeter Orbert Davis and his 18-piece chamber ensemble of the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic perform Emmy Award-winning music from the 2010 WTTW public television documentary, “DuSable to Obama: Chicago’s Black Metropolis.”

Featuring Maggie Brown and saxophonist, Ari Brown, this presentation will also integrate video highlights from the documentary to tell its tale of Chicago’s uniquely African-American history from early 20th century ragtime to the present.
